We fund organizations with strong and effective leadership that prepare children and youth from economically vulnerable households and communities for fulfilled and productive lives.
The foundation values programs that bring stability to the lives of young people through proven interventions that lead to academic success, healthy relationships, and social-emotional growth.
We prioritize programs that are trauma-informed and offer sequential, structured support over multiple years of each student’s educational journey with a goal to help young people graduate high school prepared for college and career success.
Strong programs will be school-based or school-linked and incorporate multiple youth development strategies such as outcomes aligned tutoring, mentoring, community and parent engagement, leadership development, or enrichment. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate positive longitudinal school or community outcomes such as academic improvements and other youth development success.
Preference will be given to programs that serve:
• Foster and homeless youth
• Youth from neighborhoods experiencing persistent levels of poverty
• Youth most at risk of being expelled, suspended, or not graduating
